Our Story
At just 22 years old, Makayla Montgomery founded 4 The 1 Community with a vision to create meaningful opportunities for youth and families. Driven by passion, determination, and a genuine love for helping others, she recognized the need for more positive spaces, resources, and programs that empower young people to excel.
The inspiration behind 4 The 1 Community came from a simple but powerful belief: every child matters. Having experienced challenges firsthand, Makayla saw how many young people lack access to mentorship, educational support, and resources that can make a lasting difference. Rather than waiting for change, she chose to become part of the solution.

One of our first major outreach efforts, Kutz, Stylez & Supplies, provides free haircuts, hairstyles, and school supplies to children as they prepare for the new school year.
